RAH-66 Revisited

Post by bwellmaker »

UIH,

Some years back, I undertook what I will call, my first real sale project, RAH-66 Comanche. If you do not recall, it ended in disaster. The heli was too heavy, too complex, under powered, you name it it was wrong. After being pummeled, bi-otch slapped a few times, and coming to terms it was not going to work, I cut my losses and moved on. The heli beat me.

This thing has been in the back of my pea brain, wondering around behind the little animals, for a long time.

Well pay backs are a Biotch. I am coming after you MoFo.

I acquired another LM RAH-66 just after IRCHA. Black Friday helped with deals on some of the major components so I have everything needed to move forward. I am taking a different approach this time. e-Power all the way. As it was told to me some years ago, K.I.S.S. by some guy with a funny hat, (I have known that for years but need to be reminded from time to time)( yea, and I have not seen a funny hat in sometime) I will K.I.S.S that biotch all the way home this time.

I have done a few things on the build thus far. After the first of the year the build will be in full swing. I am looking for first flights in the spring if all goes well. Here is a tease for the time being.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

B

Good luck. Will keep an eye on the build for sure!

Number of near Quinby's - ran out of fingers!

UIH,

The fuse I acquired is a LM, however Starwood is making them now. I am sure Tim may chime in somewhere along the line to confirm.

Glad to see you giving this one another go. I was sick when the first one went in, it was an incredible build. I'm sure this one will be even better!
